To secure yourself a decent income, you need to be known. A lot of people have the view that if you’re online, you’re going to be found. You need to let people know you’re there!
1. Market Yourself
This is a biggy, and can be done easily. Some creators will have to market themselves differently depending on the type of content they produce, but the basics stay the same. Give people a reason to check you out. Put up a teaser, a short clip, a few photos or some art you have done.
2. What Type of Marketing Is Right for You?
There are a few avenues you can go down. Free and paid. So, Let’s tackle the free one first shall we? Bet that’s the one you want! Free marketing; Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok. All of these are great avenues. Now, while it doesn’t cost you money, they do take time. Unfortunately in this world you get nothing for nothing (we want to be realistic with you here).
The next is paid advertising. Social Media Marketing (SMM) can be highly effective, and has some great targeting options. If you’re selling more risque content, this options probably isn’t for you. You also have Search Engine Marketing (SEM) – this is where your page would pop up on search results on the likes of Google.
For all of these, it takes time. Be patient. Don’t lose heart! Also, don’t change things after one day. Test it, run it and keep going. If you’re not consistent with your efforts to get your name out, your subscription counts will show this.
